Day Twenty Nine/Thirty

Oops forgot to do this yesterday lol =P

Day Twenty Nine: What made you first want to play Mass Effect?

I heard good things about it and had been eying it for a while. I finally broke down and got ME2 when Steam was having a sale. I loved it so much that I played through it twice before finally buying ME1.

Yeah, nothing exciting. Sorry :<

Day Thirty:  What do you love most about Mass Effect?

THE CHARACTERS.

I mean, the story is a bit generic, the universe is cool. But the characters are what really make the experience. They’re all well written, and you find yourself not hating a character because of bad writing, but because they’re actually worth hating.

But yeah, that’s it for this then <3

Day Twenty Eight: Opinions on the Reapers.

I, uh, don’t really have an opinion on the reapers. They’re just sort of the bad guys. And they get progressively dumber as the series goes on.

I just wish that Harby had more of a role in ME3. They really felt more like set pieces than the actual threat :<

Day Twenty Six/Twenty Seven

So now that the Extended Cut is out and done with…

Day Twenty Six: Least Favourite Companion.

Jacob “The Priiiize” Taylor.

It’s not that he’s a bad guy, he’s just super boring.  I don’t dislike the man, I can just never remember him. In a series full of interesting and awesome characters, he’s just yet another ME2 character with daddy issues. And that doesn’t make him unique at all because like half your ME2 squad has daddy issues.

Then he cheats on you in ME3 if you romanced him. Oh well. He’s still a bro I guess. I wouldn’t have minded Shepard heading to Rio to hit up that bar with him.

Day Twenty Seven: Opinions on the Genophage.

On one hand, I can understand why it was deployed. On the other, it’s horrible morally. It just depends on who I have alive during my playthroughs if I cure it or not.

Under Wrex, I could see the krogan actually working out their issues and becoming an allied Council race. Especially with Eve at his side, there’s really no reason not to cure the genophage; they paid for their mistakes, and for the most part this is a new generation of krogan.

Under Wreav, however, I’d be more hesitant. All he wants to do is conquer other worlds. He doesn’t seem to understand that aggression is what got his race sterilized in the first place. Even if you cure the genophage for him, there’s still a likely chance that the Council will still wipe out their race if they all survive the Reaper War.

But yeah, bad morally, sort of makes sense in a horrible way strategically.

Day Twenty Five: Favorite boss fight!

Um. Uh.

I guess the Human Reaper?

Cause the Saren boss fight was horrible D8

But the Human Reaper was also not that great…

So maybe the Thresher Maw in ME2, if that counts?

Day Twenty Four: Favourite Class (soldier, vanguard, etc.)

ENGINEER :D

Sure, they were a pain in ME1, but Tech Drones in ME2 made it worth it.

Otherwise I really like Adepts. Shockwave is amazing <3

Day Twenty Three: If one of the companions got a spin-off game. Which would you like it to be?

Garrus.

I’d love for it to be during his time on Omega. You know, building relationships with his team while shooting a bunch of mercs.

Or maybe Liara, as she searched for Shepard’s body between ME1 and ME2.

Actually, any of the characters during the gap between ME1 and ME2 would be good. Maybe all of them.

Day Twenty Two: Favourite book

…I don’t, uh, read the books/comic books. Not that I wouldn’t like to, but I don’t =P

So yeah.

Day Twenty: MaleShep or FemShep? Why?

I play both, but mostly Femshep.

Considering I am a girl, it’s just easier to relate to.

Also, I like Hale’s voice acting better than Meer’s, though he’s improved a lot since ME1.

But yeah, I play both genders to see the different outcomes.

Day Nineteen: Your perfect ending to the series.

Anything is better than what we got.

But seriously? I’d like an ending that’s happy. Like, Star-Wars-Medal-Ceremony-unicorns-and-rainbows happy. Well, it wouldn’t be like that considering the amount of people that died, but it should still be an option.

SPOILERS AFTER THIS POINT:

There should also be a sad ending, an ending where you fail, etc etc. But when I found out that it wasn’t possible to even get a happy ending, it pissed me off even more. The closest thing to ‘happy’ I guess would be the whole EDI/Joker thing in Synthesis or Shepard taking that breath at the end of Destroy. Either way, though, the crew’s stranded on some unknown planet with the relays out, so that kind of… sucks.

The other two games in the series both have the potential to end on a triumphant note that’s actually… happy. ME1 is triumphant, ME2 you can get out triumphant, etc. They should have based the ME3 ending on the style of ME2 - I’m not sure why they didn’t when all the potential for awesome was sitting right next to them the entire time.
